The Governor's Palace

The Governor's Palace was reconstructed on its original
foundations by Colonial Williamsburg in 1930. The Williamsburg
Model School (Matthew Whaley Grammar School) and the Williamsburg
High School were demolished to allow reconstruction to proceed.
The Bodleian Plate, the Frenchman's map, and Thomas
Jefferson's own measured drawing of the Palace's
layout aided in reconstruction.
