These playing cards are from a deck of such cards produced by the Chesapeake &
Ohio Railroad Co. (c. 1908), each one featuring a scene from Virginia. The only
two cards in the deck with writing on them other than picture captions are these,
which also happen to be the only two featuring images of Williamsburg. Both read,
"Copyr't 1897 by J. Murray Jordan." Jordan was a Philadelphia printer of east-
coast postcards into the early 20th century.
